What am I here for? What is my calling? Do I even have a calling? Is my insignificance to the world trumping my ability to do what God has in store for me?
You are here for a reason. You are intentional. God has something in store for you that vastly outdoes anything you could ever manipulate yourself. He designed you with a purpose in mind. We, as children of the King, are called to be His hands and feet. Despite any uncertainties you may see, you are still a child of the one true King and He still has great plans for you.
I am called to love, but that seems so simple. Like sure, I can be nice to people. I can love them when no one else seems to want to. I can be there for them through all of their struggles and help them through whatever they need. All of those things are good, but there’s more to it. In addition to all of those things, I’m going to share the love of Jesus. I’m going to love people to show them another love. I am going to go into the dark places where there seems to be no hope for joy, and show them that there is not only joy, but a joy beyond any known bounds. I’m going to show them that that joy is a direct result of the unmistakable love of God.
Love is a hard thing sometimes. It’s challenging to cope with different personalities and love people despite all of the natural flaws we think we have. We subconsciously tend to compare ourselves to others and if we stumble across a difference that aggravates us in the slightest, we have a hard time overcoming it. But isn’t that what Jesus did? Didn’t Jesus love all of those who he encountered with an unfailing interest? He does that now too. When we’re down in the dumps He never fails to stay by our side. He is there through literally ever circumstance of our lives, whether they are good or bad. That kind of love deserves some sort of praise and recognition. My goal is to make it recognized by those who don’t even know what true love is.
I’ve been called to go to Australia for five months in 2017 and straight up share the love of Jesus. I’ll be living a normal life with a job and a schedule and everyday activities, but I will be intentionally loving people to share a higher love with them. I know that it still seems simple and so easy to do, and it is sometimes, but it’s a matter of going. God tests us often and through those tests He strengthens our faith. The people I will encounter will be purposefully impacted according to God’s will for them. There truly is no greater joy than the love of the Lord, and no greater satisfaction than bringing glory to His name.
I urge you all, build a relationship with the One who made you with nothing but love. Develop an intimacy with our Heavenly Father. Talk with Him. Tell Him all of your struggles, as well as your successes. Tell him your worries, your favorite kind of toothpaste, and what inspires you. Talk with him, and then be willing to listen in return. He loves you more than is even fathomable, and He craves a relationship with you. If you talk to Him, then you listen intently, He’ll talk to you as well. Be willing to move, and He’ll move you. Be willing to go, and He’ll send you. Be willing to change, and He’ll change you. It’s not effortless, but it sure as heck is worth the effort.
If you’d like to support my solo mission to Australia, either through prayers or a donation or whatever you feel inspired, I would be forever grateful. I have a GoFundMe account (gofund.me/australiaanna) for any possible donations. I also am selling these t-shirts for $25 until the end of August.
Feel free to contact me with any questions. Go out there and make a difference y’all.
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”-Matthew 5:13-16 NKJV
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”-Matthew 28:19 NKJV
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”-Galations 2:20 NKJV
“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire.”-Hebrews 12:28-29
